Miljögeoadventure
In total there were five samples taken with increasing distance (1 m, 3 m, 5 m, 10 m, 20 m) to the source (high traffic street). The samples consist of approx. 200 g of soil and were dried before they could be analysed.
Methods of sampling and analysis
Dried samples: Sample 5 left; Sample 1, 2, 3, 4, (bottom to top) right
All samples looked quite simular, only sample 5 was of a little lighter grey than the other four samples. For further analysis the whole sample was weighted and afterwards analysed with the XRF gun. Afterwards, the sample was sieved through a 63 µm sieve to separate the fine from the coarse fraction. Both fractions were weighted again before they were also analysed with the XRF gun. In the end there were 3 XRF- measurements for each 5 samples from the chosen field location.
